Senior delegates from the Chinese city of Nanjing toured Melbourne’s Docklands last year (November 2019) to see how Australia’s experience could inform their own urban water management.

Nanjing is the capital city of Jiangsu Province, one of Victoria’s sister states.

Professor Tony Wong and Jianbin Wang (our International Engagement Manager—Asia) took the 11 senior delegates, led by Party Sectary of City of Nanjing Mr Zhang Jinghua, on a guided tour around Docklands Park to see WSUD features constructed in the precinct 20 years ago.

Docklands and Nanjing have similar urban densities, and the group held vibrant high level discussions about the lessons they could take from the Australian examples.
