A new publication provides key insights into reforming traditional approaches to urban water policy and practice. By synthesizing its intellectual history, the work responds to calls for greater use of complexity theory to enhance twenty-first century urban water management and identifies principles that could lead to better and transformative outcomes.

Free to access until the end of May, the publication was included in a thematic selection of research articles that form a journey of discovery through water research, in honour of World Water Day 2017, which was marked in March.
