Water literacy research team claims top Queensland award
A CRC for Water Sensitive Cities research team claimed the Research Innovation prize at the Australian Water Association Queensland Awards last Friday night.
Project Leader Associate Professor Kelly Fielding and Dr Angela Dean from The University of Queensland and Dr Fiona Newton from Monash University conducted comprehensive research into Australian water literacy as part of Engaging communities with Water Sensitive Cities (Project A2.3).
Their research is the first to benchmark Australian water literacy and the outcomes provide a business case for continuing to engage with communities through education and engagement programs and through tailoring programs so that they can achieve maximum impact.
After the team discussed their research at the 2014 Water Sensitive Cities Conference, they were invited to present this year at the Stormwater Queensland conference in Toowoomba, IWA Cities of the Future workshop and Brisbane Flooding community of practice seminar.
Congratulations to Kelly and the team.
