A collaborative program between the CRC for Water Sensitive Cities (CRCWSC) and International WaterCentre (IWC) to build future water leaders has won the 2015 Stormwater Queensland Award for Excellence in Policy And Education.

The award was presented to the joint winners for the design and delivery of the “Urban Futures: Delivering Water Sensitive Cities” module as part of the IWC’s Master of Integrated Water Management, developed in partnership with the CRCWSC.

The “Urban Futures: Delivering Water Sensitive Cities” Masters module presents and explores a new paradigm for how the hydrological cycle interacts with the urban landscape to support liveable, sustainable, productive and resilient cities. It provides Masters students with an inter-disciplinary understanding of the inter-play between society, technology and urban design to ensure water security, water resource efficiency, waterway health, flood mitigation, public health and amenity. The revised module incorporates leading-edge research and insights from the CRCWSC into the syllabus.
