future_water_leadersAnother cohort of students have successfully completed the CRCWSC led “Urban futures: delivering water sensitive cities module as part of the International WaterCentre’s Master of Integrated Water Management. The 18 students from countries including Laos, Vietnam, India, Japan, China, Indonesia, Panama, Mexico, United States, and Australia participated in a varied program of lectures, webinars, fieldtrips and case study exercises to engage with the principles, technologies and practices of water sensitive cities and discussed how these might be applied in their own contexts. Many of the students also attended the Water Sensitive Cities conference in October in Melbourne and some will be undertaking their final Masters research project in topics related to Water Sensitive Cities supervised by CRCWSC researchers.

Module coordinators, Dr Briony Rogers and Dr Annette Bos, would like to thank researchers from across the four CRCWSC research Programs who dedicated time, insights and experience through guest lecturing contributions. They also gratefully acknowledge two of the CRCWSC’s SME Associate Partners – Designflow’s Shaun Leinster and E2DesignLab’s Dr Peter Breen for each generously spending a day with students on fieldtrip sites in and around Brisbane. This provided an excellent opportunity for students to see how water sensitive concepts have been and could be translated in practice.
