Are we doing enough to protect Queensland’s world famous natural assets? Do we truly understand the issues so we can design the right responses?
If you’re interested in finding out the answers to these vital questions, come along to the 2019 IECA Australasian Conference and Stormwater Queensland Conference in Cairns in October.
Stormwater Queensland (SQ) and the International Erosion Control Association (ICEA) Australasia are joining forces to hold this event, to recognise the common values and purpose they share in effective land, stormwater and waterway management.
The three-day event is open to all soil and water practitioners, academics, suppliers, asset owners and students. It offers a common forum in which to engage, collaborate, discuss and get the reality checks we need in areas such as runoff management, regulation and Great Barrier Reef protection.
You’ll explore what can we learn from past mistakes and how can we work smarter to manage our land and water resources, including better integration of soil and water management.
The conference program, which will include keynote speakers, plenary sessions, open discussion forums, panel sessions, technical workshops, exhibitions and a social program, will be available online in May. For now, you can register your interest here or email the Conference Coordinator, Jessica Newmarch, at jnewmarch@gemsevents.com.au, for more information.
