This annual report highlights the CRCWSCs second year – a year building research capacity and consolidation of research activities, developing productive connections among researchers and government and industry partners, and synthesising interim research outputs.

The urban microclimate team gained media attention developing an index to measure the heat vulnerability of suburbs, helping to focus heat mitigation initiatives through water sensitive urban planning and design on the most vulnerable areas.

In 2013/14 the CRCWSC actively engaged with industry and government partners in all three of our regions in Australia and convened over 54 stakeholder engagement, research communication and training activities across these regions, with 10 such activities convened internationally. Work commenced with the Public Utilities Board and the National University of Singapore in our Singapore research hub.
