Eighteen European Union (EU) Counsellors were given an overview of transition planning for water sensitive cities when they visited the University of Western Australia last Thursday.

Professor Anas Ghadouani, CRC for Water Sensitive Cities Western Region Executive Director, gave the visitors an overview of the research being conducted by the CRCWSC.

The Counsellors, mainly based at European embassies and consulates in Canberra and Sydney, were enthusiastic about opportunities for CRCWSC collaboration in research programmes such as the EU’s Horizon 2020 and for higher education institutions and students to participate in the EU’s Erasmus+.

Horizon 2020 is the EU’s new program to foster international collaboration in research and innovation, while Erasmus+ will provide opportunities for Australians to collaborate and receive EU funding with the aim of improving higher education worldwide.
