clearwater-events1CRC for Water Sensitive Cities (CRCWSC) participant Clearwater is hosting workshops in Melbourne in February on water sensitive urban design (WSUD) and biolfiter system design.

On Thursday 4 February, CRCWSC researcher Dr David McCarthy from Monash University and Professor Tim Fletcher from the University of Melbourne will lead a training course on ‘WSUD: Stormwater management principles and practices’ at the University of Melbourne’s Burnley Campus,
500 Yarra Boulevard, Richmond.

This introductory course will focus on the WSUD approach to stormwater management. In addition to classroom-based learning, participants will visit some of the latest research and demonstration facilities at Burnley campus, including the Burnley demonstration green roof.

On Tuesday 16 February, Clearwater and the CRCWSC will deliver a training course to help build understanding of the research behind the recently launched Version 2 of The Adoption Guidelines for Stormwater Biofiltration Systems. Based on the latest research, these guidelines provide information on stormwater biofilter performance, the business case for its adoption, technical design guidance and key issues for designing, constructing, monitoring and maintaining systems.

This seminar will be presented by Ana Deletic, Belinda Hatt and Emily Payne from the CRCWSC and Simon Brink from the City of Manningham will add an industry perspective.
