More than 400 people, including the Federal Minister for Industry and Science the Hon Ian Macfarlane MP, gained insights into a selection of new developments from collaborative industry research at the CRC Showcase in Canberra on May 26.

The CRC for Water Sensitive Cities displayed a model of a green wall (pictured) that highlighted some of the research into Integrated multifunctional urban water systems (Project C4.1), and a video depicting key research areas.

Prime Minister the Hon Tony Abbott MP was able to view several exhibits on display and gave a short speech indicating his support for the ongoing CRC Programme.

Hosted by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Industry and Science, Karen Andrews, the Showcase and Excellence in Innovation Awards Dinner were part of the annual CRC Conference that celebrated current achievements across 35 active CRCs in areas such as healthcare, bushfire and natural hazards management, financial markets security and the auto and aerospace industries.

About 40 Senators and Members of Parliament attended the awards dinner as well as Ambassadors, High Commissioners and senior officials from at least 15 collaborating countries.
