Over 120 industry and research partners descended upon Perth for the biannual CRC for Water Sensitive Cities Partners’ Workshop over 3–4 April 2013. The program included a blend of practitioners’ perspectives and research updates, ranging from refreshingly frank presentations of the challenges faced by our partners through to inspirational success stories already being achieved in our transition to water sensitive cities and towns. The quality of the presentations was perhaps best demonstrated through the stimulation of abundant and passionate facilitated discussion throughout the two days.

The April workshop was the first in which we made live-streaming of the proceedings available to partners that were unable to attend in person. At any given time over the two days, we had up to 16 partners logged into the live-stream, and we look forward to further developing this technology in future workshops. The Perth workshop also included the introduction of Programs E and F—Entertainment and Fun—which kicked off in fine form with the Workshop Dinner held in the beautiful surrounds of Kings Park, and continued on with the Informal Soirée in the recycled surrounds of Greenhouse.

Positive feedback from all attendees, as collected through the completed Workshop Evaluation forms, was overwhelming. There were many comments regarding the positive atmosphere of collaboration between partners, and this was evident in the enthusiastic networking.

The scene is now well set for the upcoming Industry Partners workshop to be held in Adelaide on 30-31 October 2013. The CRC team will be looking forward to seeing you all in Adelaide…
