Making a splash at the National Water Awards

Prof Jurg Keller, Regional Executive Director (Eastern Region), has brought home the award for Water Professional of the Year from this week’s National Awards of the Australian Water Association.

The Water Professional of the Year is awarded to individuals who have displayed a sustained passion and continued commitment to the water industry, and who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and influence in the water sector.

Prof Jurg Keller, the Director of UQ’s Advanced Water Management Centre (AWMC), is an individual who has shown true leadership in the water industry, with the development of the AWMC as a world leading water research centre and has been recognised for this contributions by his peers. His passion and commitment to the future of the water industry and his personal influence on the profession is unrivalled.

On winning this prestigious award Jurg said, “I’m particularly pleased about the recognition coming from the Australian water industry, rather than academic peers. It has recognised the value and importance of innovation and R&D in the industry, particularly in the current climate, to achieve productivity gains and improved industry efficiency.”
