Modelling cities paper wins international engineering prize
CRC for Water Sensitive Cities researchers have shared in the prestigious Trevithick Fund prize for the best paper of 2014 in the Engineering Sustainability journal.
Lead authors Dr Christian Urich, Dr Peter Bach, Dr David McCarthy and Professor Ana Deletic and colleagues received the award for the ‘Modelling cities and water infrastructure dynamics’ paper in the international scientific journal, published by the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Dr Urich, who presented at a modelling tool seminar in Brisbane on 19 June, is part of the research team for Socio-technical modelling tools to examine urban water management scenarios (Project A4.3). His research is an essential part of the development of DAnCE4Water (Dynamic Adaptation for eNabling City Evolution for Water), software that aims to model how different water strategies will serve a city over time.
