Cover-Adoption_Guidelines_for_Stormwater_Biofiltration_SystemsA comprehensive set of guidelines for designing, establishing and maintaining stormwater biofiltration systems was launched by the CRC for Water Sensitive Cities in July 2015 in Melbourne.

More than 60 people attended the launch of the Adoption Guidelines for Stormwater Biofiltration Systems (version 2) and 65 took part in the first training workshop hosted by Water Sensitive South Australia in Adelaide last Wednesday.

Two of the report’s authors, Professor Ana Deletic and Dr Belinda Hatt, provided an introduction to the research, the benefits of stormwater biofiltration systems, basic information required for conceptual design, and an overview of the key features of the guidelines.

These guidelines provide information on stormwater biofilter performance, the business case for its adoption, technical design guidance and key issues for designing, constructing, monitoring and maintaining systems.

The guidelines can be downloaded here. The Summary Report for the guidelines is available here.
