Professor Nigel Tapper, co-Leader of Program B: Water Sensitive Urbanism, will give the keynote presentation at ‘In Case of Emergency, Plant Trees: Reducing Mortality Risk in the Face of LA’s Hotter, Drier Future’ presented by TreePeople. At this event, to be held at the Los Angeles City Hall on 25 March 2014, TreePeople will present an interactive conversation about the critical link between urban tree canopy and the life-threatening impacts of severe heat – a key area of Professor Tapper’s research. Professor Tapper will share lessons learned from Australia’s record-breaking heat waves and devastating 12 year drought.
