Elisbet-Several CRC for Water Sensitive Cities PhD candidates have been busy filming and refining short pitches on their research for a national Early Career Researcher Showcase competition.

The competition, run by the Cooperative Research Centres Association (CRCA), requires researchers to submit their 30-second pitch via YouTube for the chance to win a trip to Brisbane to present their work at CRCA annual conference in Brisbane next March. Five finalists will also receive $1000 and the winner will also receive a further $5000.

Christoph Brodnik (Project A3.1), Nita Lauren (A2.2), Adam Shypanski (C3.1), Tracy Schultz (A2.3) and Elisabet Andres Garcia (C1.3) submitted videos entries discussing their research, with support from the CRCWSC communications team.

CRCWSC entrants this year received some expert input into effective science communication at a workshop in August in Melbourne, which involved refining the content and delivery of their 30-second pitches.

We wish them the best of luck in the competition.

More information on the competition is available on the CRCA website https://crca.asn.au/ecr2016/
